Cancellation & Weather Policy

Please review our booking, cancellation, and weather policies before reserving your charter.

Cancellation Policy

Deposits may be refunded when a reservation is canceled at least 72 hours before the scheduled booking date and time, subject to published terms. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the scheduled departure are not eligible for a deposit refund.

Weather Cancellations

Weather cancellations initiated by Charleston Sunsets Sailing result in a charter credit valid for one year from the date of the canceled charter, subject to published booking terms.

The captain retains final authority regarding whether weather and marine conditions are safe for departure or continued operation. A cloudy day, absence of a visible sunset, temperature preference, light rain, or similar conditions do not automatically constitute an unsafe-weather cancellation. The captain makes the final operational weather decision.

Waiver Requirement

NO SIGNED WAIVER. NO SAILING.

All passengers must complete the applicable Charleston Sunsets Sailing waiver requirements before departure. The electronic process helps prepare your crew before arrival; however, final waiver execution/confirmation is required upon embarking and prior to departure. Every adult must execute their own waiver, and the applicable parent or legal guardian must execute the required waiver for each minor. A passenger who does not complete the required onsite waiver will not be permitted to sail.

Refusal to Sign Waiver

A guest's refusal or failure to execute required waiver documentation does not constitute a cancellation by Charleston Sunsets Sailing. Guests who refuse or fail to execute required waiver documentation before departure will not be permitted to participate.

Late Arrival

Passengers are responsible for arriving with sufficient time to complete required boarding, identification, safety, and waiver procedures. Charleston Sunsets Sailing is not required to delay departure because a passenger failed to arrive on time or complete required documentation before scheduled departure.

Charter Termination for Unsafe Conduct

A charter terminated because of unsafe, unlawful, threatening, excessively intoxicated, or materially disruptive behavior is not eligible for a refund or credit for the unused portion.
